Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about AloEx products
Is the brand name 'AloEx' because aloe vera is an ingredient?
AloEx does contain aloe vera as one of its ingredients, but the formula also includes dozens of other herbal extracts. The name 'AloEx' actually comes from two parts: 'Alo' from 'Alopecia' (hair loss / thinning), and 'Ex' meaning 'the past' — so AloEx means making hair fall a thing of the past.
How is AloEx different from other anti-hair-fall shampoos?
AloEx products use natural herbal extracts as their key ingredients — every herb is backed by research from leading institutions showing it genuinely helps reduce hair fall and stimulate new growth. AloEx ferments the herbs for an extended period before extracting them via the Hydrosol method — steam distillation — which produces a more concentrated and higher-quality result than other extraction methods. *Results may vary.
Which AloEx shampoo formula should I use?
AloEx anti-hair-fall shampoo comes in 3 formulas: AloEx Original Shampoo — the original formula, ideal for oily hair and people who sweat easily; AloEx Black Shampoo — Black Sticky Rice formula, ideal for dry or chemically treated hair; and AloEx Extra Mild — the ultra-gentle formula, ideal for sensitive scalps, pregnant or postpartum mothers, and breastfeeding mothers. *Results may vary.
Can I use AloEx shampoo or treatment after perming, dyeing, or straightening my hair?
Yes, you can use it as normal. AloEx products do not loosen permed hair, cause colour to fade, or degrade chemicals from straightening. They actually help nourish hair and scalp that need extra care after chemical treatments. *Results may vary.
How long does it take to see results with AloEx?
Normally, after about 2–3 weeks of use, hair fall noticeably decreases — especially for customers using both shampoo and serum, who typically feel new hair growing after about 3–4 weeks of continuous use. 95% of customers report that AloEx reduced their hair fall and brought new growth, based on a survey of 1,317 verified AloEx users between 15 May 2019 and 30 June 2019. *Results may vary.
Will I see results from shampoo alone?
AloEx shampoo contains herbal extract as concentrated as 40%, which can help reduce hair fall and stimulate new hair growth just like the serum. Overall, customers will start to see results in about 4–5 weeks when used regularly and continuously. *Results may vary.
Will AloEx make my hair dry like other anti-hair-fall shampoos?
Ordinary anti-hair-fall shampoos often make hair abnormally dry, because most people with hair fall problems tend to have scalps that produce too much oil, clogging the follicles. Our AloEx shampoo comes in 3 formulas so customers can choose what suits their own hair and scalp condition. Importantly, every AloEx formula contains herbs that keep the scalp moisturised, to prevent dandruff as well. *Results may vary.
Do I need to use shampoo together with the serum to reduce hair fall?
The shampoo and serum work together: the shampoo cleanses oil and chemical residue that clogs the hair roots, while the serum stimulates blood circulation to the roots so they can divide cells normally and produce hair continuously. You can use either one alone and still see results — it just takes longer than using both together. *Results may vary.
If I'm already taking biotin, can I add the AloEx supplement alongside?
Yes, it definitely won't duplicate the biotin you're already taking, because besides biotin, the AloEx dietary supplement also contains 14 other extracts that nourish the hair. *Results may vary.
Can AloEx help with hereditary hair loss?
AloEx contains herbal extracts that help reduce the severity of, and balance, hormones specifically beneath the scalp, improving blood circulation so the hair glands can divide cells normally and produce hair continuously. Results are typically seen in about 2–3 months of continuous use; severe or long-standing cases may take 5–6 months. *Results may vary.
Does AloEx shampoo also help with dandruff?
Yes. AloEx contains natural herbal extracts that help reduce inflammation, eliminate fungus, and add moisture to the scalp — properties that help eliminate dandruff. *Results may vary.
Do I need to use a conditioner too?
For those who already have hair fall, you should avoid conditioner, as it contains silicone-based oils that can clog the hair roots and worsen shedding. If you want a product to add volume, we recommend AloEx Natural Hair Mask — a treatment that can be used from root to tip, adding volume without clogging the scalp.
Which product should I use for hair fall during pregnancy or postpartum?
Pregnant mothers, postpartum mothers, and breastfeeding mothers can use any AloEx formula, but we recommend the Extra Mild formula. It helps reduce hormonal fluctuations that cause hair fall (via safflower extract) and stimulates new growth (via rice bran extract). For faster new growth, pair the Extra Mild Shampoo with the serum. *Results may vary.
If I am already taking medication or under a doctor's care for hair loss, can I use AloEx?
Yes, you can use it alongside your doctor's treatment — the product will not interfere with or affect the medication you are taking or using. *Results may vary.
What scientific tests has AloEx passed?
AloEx has been tested by two leading institutes. The Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) found AloEx herbal extracts inhibit the 5α-reductase enzyme (which drives DHT-related genetic hair loss) at 89.50% relative to Finasteride, and stimulate hair-root cell division at 87.91% relative to Minoxidil. The Research Centre for Bioorganic Chemistry (RCBC), Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University confirmed AloEx extracts have antioxidant activity 371× that of Trolox, and identified 9 key Terpene compounds.
How does AloEx compare to Minoxidil or Finasteride?
TISTR's tests show AloEx delivers 89.50% of Finasteride's 5α-reductase inhibition and 87.91% of Minoxidil's hair-root cell stimulation. The key advantage: AloEx has no side effects. Finasteride can affect male sexual performance, and Minoxidil may cause scalp irritation or rebound shedding when stopped. AloEx is made from natural herbs, making it safe for long-term continuous use.
What Thai herbs does AloEx use?
AloEx uses 15 Thai herbs from a recipe traced to a 200-year-old folk-medicine manuscript, grown organically on local farms in Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son. The herbs include Korean ginseng, black sticky rice, rosemary, lemon, kaffir lime, henna, soapnut, safflower, rice bran, aloe vera, and 5 others. They are extracted using two technologies: Hydrosol (steam distillation) for volatile compounds and solvent extraction for non-volatile compounds — capturing the full spectrum of each herb's benefits.
Can AloEx help with premature greying?
Yes. AloEx Organic Intensive Hair Serum contains Densidyl, a patented active clinically shown to reduce premature greying by 24.3% over 140 days. It works at the hair-follicle cell level to extend the natural production of melanin (the pigment that gives hair its colour).
I have stress-related hair loss — which AloEx product should I use?
Stress-related hair loss happens when elevated cortisol disrupts the hair growth cycle. We recommend AloEx Original Shampoo paired with AloEx Hair Serum to restore root health. For severe cases or if you also have premature greying, try AloEx Organic Intensive Hair Serum, which contains Densidyl to restore both root health and hair pigment.
My hair isn't falling yet — can I use AloEx as prevention?
Yes, and we recommend it — especially if you have a family history of thinning or you're 25+. Use AloEx Everyday Organic Shampoo or Conditioner daily to maintain root and scalp strength before problems develop. Prevention is much easier than treatment.
Can children use AloEx?
AloEx is suitable for ages 12 and up. For younger children with hair-loss concerns, please consult a dermatologist first — hair loss in young children can have causes that need specialist diagnosis.
Is AloEx really sulfate-free and paraben-free?
Yes. AloEx's anti-hair-loss line (shampoos, treatments, serums) is free of Sulfate, Paraben, Alcohol, and Silicone — safe for sensitive scalps and pregnant mothers. All products are registered with the Thai FDA.
Where can I buy AloEx?
