Another proud moment for Thai herbs! Nasaema Industry Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and owner of the AloEx brand, has been audited and certified to ISO 22716:2007 — Cosmetics: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) by Bureau Veritas Certification (Thailand), one of the world's leading certification bodies with more than 93 accredited offices worldwide. It confirms that AloEx's hair-care manufacturing meets the same standard international markets measure against.

Certificate No. TH028014

Scope of certification: “Manufacture of cosmetics (hair care products)”

Site: the company's factory in San Sai District, Chiang Mai

Valid from 15 September 2026 to 14 September 2029

What is ISO 22716?

ISO 22716 is the international standard for good manufacturing practice in cosmetics — Cosmetic GMP. It frames how a factory works as a whole system, from the day raw materials arrive to the day the product reaches the consumer.

What earns it international recognition is that the European Union references it in its Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. The certificate therefore works as a “common language” that overseas partners and importers understand at once, with nothing to re-explain each time.

The audit covers every part of manufacturing:

  • Personnel — the knowledge, hygiene and training of everyone on the floor
  • Premises and equipment — how production areas are designed, cleaned and maintained
  • Raw materials and packaging — supplier selection, incoming checks and storage
  • Production — controlling every step so every batch comes out the same
  • Quality-control laboratory — testing before any product is released
  • Handling non-conformities — waste, deviations and product recalls
  • Documentation and internal audit — every step recorded and traceable

Certified at the level of “the whole factory’s production system”

What separates ISO 22716 from an ordinary product test is that it does not inspect items one at a time. It audits the management system for the entire factory, asking whether it is designed to produce the same quality in every batch — and it is audited by an outside body, not the factory assessing itself

The scope granted here covers the manufacture of hair care products, which is a different thing from proving how the product performs — something AloEx has already shown through the test results from the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) and the antioxidant test from the RCBC laboratory at Chulalongkorn University

Nor does certification end on the day it is issued: across the three-year term the factory has to keep the system at that standard and remain open to ongoing surveillance audits by Bureau Veritas.

From an international standard to support for Thai farmers

One of the hearts of ISO 22716 is control of raw materials and traceability. A factory has to know where each batch of material came from and how it was selected and checked on arrival, and must be able to show the paperwork at every step.

For a brand built on Thai herbs like AloEx, that means sourcing has to be planned for the long term, working with growing areas that deliver consistent quality, with every batch traceable to its source.

AloEx has sourced its herbs from farms in northern Thailand — in Chiang Mai, Lampang and Mae Hong Son — from the very beginning, in the belief that a brand should grow alongside the communities that grow its raw materials. Certification to ISO 22716 is therefore not just a certificate on the factory wall but a wider-open door to overseas markets — and as orders from abroad rise, so does demand for quality Thai herbs.

AloEx will keep backing Thai farmers: buying herbs from local growers, and raising the way they work together to match the international standard the factory now holds. Because Thai herbs grown by Thai hands are worth enough to stand on shelves in world markets.

What AloEx users get

  • Consistency in every bottle — a system that holds every batch to the same quality
  • Traceability — every batch documented from raw material to finished product
  • Third-party verification — audited by an international certification body, not self-assessed
  • Ready for overseas markets — a standard that partners and importers abroad know and accept

ISO 22716 certification is the latest piece of evidence, built on the GMP standard, the Thai FDA registration and the scientific test results AloEx has gathered over more than 16 years.
